Step-by-Step Preparation Checklist

Strip all bed sheets, pillowcases, mattress covers, blankets, and comforters from every bed in the treatment area.

Wash all items in hot water and dry on the highest heat setting for at least 30 minutes.

Seal dried items immediately in clean plastic bags to prevent reinfestation.

Clear floor space around all beds, nightstands, dressers, and bedroom furniture.

Remove items from closet floors to provide full access for technicians and K-9 inspectors.

Organize or box loose belongings so treatment can reach baseboards, carpet edges, and furniture legs.

Move beds, nightstands, and dressers at least 12–18 in away from walls if instructed by your technician.

Pull out sofa beds and inspect seams for signs of bed bug activity.

Do not remove furniture from your home, as this may spread bed bugs to other areas or units.

Vacuum all carpets, area rugs, and baseboards thoroughly before treatment.

Pay special attention to seams along mattresses, box springs, and upholstered furniture.

Dispose of the vacuum bag or empty canister contents into an outdoor trash receptacle immediately after vacuuming.

Plan for all human occupants and pets to remain out of the home for the timeframe specified.

Cover fish tanks completely with plastic wrap or towels and turn off air pumps during treatment.

Do not re-enter the home until your technician confirms it is safe to return.
